ABSTRACT
Ansari, B50221011. “Framing Analysis of the National Police Image in
the Reporting of the murder case of Brigadir Nopriansyah Josua Hutabarat by
Koran.tempo.co Media” under the guidance of Achmad Herman as the main
supervisor and Stepanus Bo'do as the member mentor.
This research aims to find out how the image of the National Police was
constructed in the murder case of Brigadier Nopriansyah Josua Hutabarat in
Koran.tempo.co reporting. This murder case has reduced public confidence to the
police institution, because the handling was unprofessional and involved several
high-ranking National Police officials as suspected perpetrators. The research
approach is descriptive qualitative using Robert M. Entman's framing analysis
method. Data collected through observation and documentation study. The results
of the research show that the framing of the koran.tempo.co report strengthens the
negative image of the National Police that has been formed among its reading
public. The koran.tempo.co directs its readers to be skeptical about how the
police uncovered the murder case of Brigadier Nopriansyah Josua Hutabarat, but
at the same time, hope that the National Police can act professionally.
